Inspired !

I enjoyed the case studies used for my Business strategy classes for this term.
1st study case - Madonna

Here's goes the start of the case study ...
Despite a new r/ship a move to London, a 2nd pregnancy, & her 42nd bday -- e new millennium saw little evidence of a slowdown in e career of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone ....after two-and-a-half decades at the top of her profession, Madonna continued to be the world's highest earning female entertainers and one of the best-known women on the planet.
And then we were told to discuss the elements of Madonna's success by appliying the theories that we were taught into the case study. Interesting? It sure was !

2 days ago I was watching Michael Jackson (MJ)'s documentary of This is it concert preprartion before his death...my admiration for this gentleman grew. the next day as I pondered about what to share during FT sharing session, a light bulb lit up in my brain and I started to get excited !

My little idea --> Why not I use the same method as Uni acamedic learning for the sharing session as well? The theories would of course be sutras such as 三字经，弟子规，大学，论语...

Well, Im still @ the brainstorming stage...but what I have in mind is something that goes like this...usually, one do get to learn about the meaning of the content in the sutra but...to apply / use it in our daily life, hmmm... not quite able to relate especially true for younger audience.

Let's use the example of MJ.


Discuss why is MJ's life a success? not because he's rich but his r/ship w pple who are able to get close w him (very talented guy, no airs, soft spoken, very gentlemen, yet he's frank & honest). His dedication to work, spending hours practising and perfecting every move and even went down to very details in his music production. Also awarded the most charitable celebrity by Guinness world record.

Then use back the theories (the teachings) to apply into MJ case. What have he done etc...

Well, I still need more time to come out the case study and also the linking of the theories seen in the case studies...I'm sure that it would make the sharing session more interesting and the learning more effective (smiles). Wish me success !

any regrets?

had some emotion stir-up when I learned the news that an ex-colleague has passed away recently. He was a known MR Good guy and he was still so young ! just 2 years older than my supporting spouse. I cant help but ponder if I were in his shoes, at the time of accident when he knew he's not going to make it, what were his last thoughts ? regrets? of things that he had not done? or words that he had not said to his loved ones?

Well, it had some quiet time alone yesterday and i gave it a little thought...
my duty as a daughter, I think I have matured over the years and have shown much progress in this role.

my recent BIG gift to my parents - a pair of gold rings on Valentine's day. didnt cause me any $ because I used my downy to trade in and I can tell they were elated with the surprise. HOw I know? because they went back to the goldsmith had their names engrave on both rings and have been wearing the ring since then and the rings are prefect fit !


Also had some quality time with them... dad and mum like to do some planting and their latest to bear fruit - dragon fruit. papa is so proud of his achievements that he asked a few times if I would like to take photo of it ! and here we go... me posing w the dragon fruit. "pretending" Im able to cut.

The real cutting out was done by papa ! hee hee

my role as Daughter in law... well.. on average Im doing pretty well. Handling with the boys and helped out abit when she needed help. and bearing in mind some of the things she wanted and getting them for her.

my role as a wife... may be studying now but I'm still able to handle both houses and kids with much balance. also able to give him a little surprises occasionally such as getting him a 45min flight simulator ticket for him to experience flying his own plane. IT's a very expensive gift I must admit and I pondered for a few days before deciding to buy it for him. Well, since his dream is to learn flying, this is the first step for him - something which I can help him with. So this role - I'm ok too.

Role as myself...See the photo of me above, ya, that's my latest outlook. Tu Tu hair with tu tu spec. I used to hate looking this nerdy but funny enough, as I aged, I started to feel more confident being myself and I liked this appearance.

Probably the only regret if i were to leave this world now, is not being able to accompany my boys and see him grow up.

IT's always through this kind of "news" that will act as a reminder for oneself to live in the present.

Very Outdoor Week ~

Thu, Sat & Sun !
We went outdoor 3 times in a week ! wohooo haha.

Thursday evening...
Whats app Family Grp Chat beeps ... Bro & Xueyan gg out for cycling. asked if anyone keen too. We were tempted but I hesitated for a while and Zhiyi decided we just bring our boys to Yishun Dam for dinner instead. Before that let's get 2 pkt of TEH on our way there.

after dinner, let's pop out tent and seek inside from the strong wind.


and by this time, bro & Xuyan had cycled to Pungpol to see their new flat and back to Yishun Dam.

and of coz their face were both red and shag by the time they reached back Yishun and their leg ache the next 2 days ! ha ha.

Saturday evening...
Huixi came back home for stayover and asked if we have any program.
We decided to go out for road cycling. Went CHen mama hse to borrow bro's bike for Huixi and out we go.

Zhiyi modified the child seat and fitted onto our Brompton bikes... See the pic carefully, the back wheel of the bike was folded in so that it can stand on its own. Rather stressful for Zhiyi as Huixi & I had no road cycling experience. Neither do we have good cycling skills. Rather shag but very nice experience. haa...

Sunday morning !
After breakfast we headed for Marina Barriage ! Really a great place for the boys to run around because it's so spacious ! I like the place.


after that we went Funan to another solar plate for outdoor use, had lunch and off to East Coast Park to POP our tent for afternoon nap. We found a nice place where we can pop our tent right in front of our car ! hee


yes yes ! another step to healthy lifestyle for us & the boys.

Gun Training

Scenairo: Zhiyi taking cover from the sofa. YuXiang behind the table, and Yukuan behind a basket of toys...
Content: BOys used the semi auto NERF guns to fire. Yuxiang ran out to collect Bullets to reload his gun, got hit a bullet on his cheek. Yukuan fisihed up his bullets, and ran to daddy for assistant to reload (he forgot he & daddy are opposite teams).

Content: Round 2 of training. Firing continues...This time round, Yukuan ran off to daddy to seek assistance earlier. Yuxiang realised his gun got stuck, he cleared it and continued firing again.


COnclusion : Good bonding game. Suitable for aged 2 to 60 !
My daddy gets excited when we talk about guns too. It certainly brings back his army days memories.

Project Mgmt

A new module which I learned this new term is Project Management (PM). This is a really interesting module, very very nice lecturer. Not hard, just very tedious one. This time round, the main assignment is an individual work which require me to come out with a PM rport for a future project.

The lecturer did provide us with 10 ideas like organising an Asean Ministerial conference, red carpet movie premium, opening a fashion boutique with the designer turning up for opening ceremony, upgrading a small town project or even the lauch of a new product in the market !

Well, since we are allowed to have other ideas.... and the few which I asked were already apporved by Dr Dipan, the question now is to decide which one to work on.

There's really 2 which I like a lot.
A) Setting up a child care ctr in my company clubhouse


B) Setting up a roof-top Veggie cafe


Option A - my interest, since Im a parent myself, and my 2nd choice of career would be in eduction. And if I were to do this, then Im targetting at the multipurpose hall for the classroom. Probably... I will also go for a Cherie Hearts franchise, so then Cherie Hearts can provide me with the standards required for a school already. And I will propose to have both the outdoor and indoor playground to be back in the clubhouse (smiles)...
Feasible? Yes, I think so. haa haa

Option B - the dream of my spouse. Finding a building for the cafe, Seeking approval from the relevant authorities, coming out with the design of the cafe, external decor, internal decor... Ambience we want is a relax one. What else do we require? Oh, the menu. What do we want to serve? deifnitely more towards ang mo style. finger food. cafe... artifical grass where children can run around.
Feasible? of course, just... How much this project will cost? and how long does it take? ke ke ke.

Alright, so here's some updates about me, him & our boys !

my current status...i just had my exam a week before CNY, and is still working on my 5,000 research project report.have been working on it for months now and am really happy that each step i take now is bringing me nearer to the destination! See these are the 44 sets of survey that I have collected from our senior colleagues.

and putting them into tables for analysis... wohooo... Look at this !

indescribable feeling of overcoming part by part of that piece of work! yeah!

update on my supporting spouse...as his wish, we are still adventuring into day camps for our boys the most recent one we had was 2 weeks before CNY. This is by far the longest duration of camp...10am-3pm and here's some pics to remember...



and then he got 2 super giant tent frm overseas and we just tried it on cny eve... some pics pics again.


There's gun training session... Yes, because my dear supporting spouse like guns so much, we started buying a few and...we got Jiewen, Gary, Vincent and Gilbert to join us too ! We trained ourselves hard...and even got the girls (Enci & Xinci) to try on the guns) and have one-on-one team fight...




And then we arranged to have our GUN Party during our reunion dinner @ 5th uncle's hse...it's a pity, this is the only shot I managed to take.

haha, Im just amazed by their logical thinking...the sequence of their conversation are all very realistic (smiles).
